inflation / loss of value over time

Inflation is a word often heard, but do you really appreciate what inflation means for your savings?

Inflation has the same relationship with compound interest, as have savings and dept: the one is the inverse of the other...

One might think that owning 100'000 CHF is a lot, which is certainly true today, but with an annual inflation of only 2.5% per year the same amount will only buy half as much in no more than 30 years.

So part of our efforts to save has to protect our saving from devaluing themselves into insignificance until we need them.
